Saltburn Cliff Tramway

Unfortunately, due to a recent fire, the Tramway is closed.

At this stage, it’s too early to say whether this will affect the 2024 opening date, which was expected for Easter but we will keep the public notified of developments.

Welcome To Saltburn Cliff Tramway

The Saltburn Cliff Tramway opened in 1884 to replace a vertical hoist and is now the oldest water balanced funicular still in operation in Great Britain, linking the Victorian town of Saltburn with the only remaining pleasure pier on the whole North East and Yorkshire coast.
